I hope everyone has enjoyed the holidays. I’ve been hibernating, but I’m back now, and I’ve got a bunch of talks and events over the next few weeks, in addition to a new term.
- Wednesday, January 8, 9pm EST at Virtually Speaking Online Radio
Jennifer Ouelette will be interviewing me about my writing, physics, and symmetry in the universe. The interview will be “live” in Second Life, but will be downloadable as a podcast after.
- Monday, January 13, 6pm at National Mechanics
I’ll be talking about “What’s the Matter with the Higgs Boson” as part of the “Science on Tap” series organized by the Wagner Free Institute.
- Tuesday, January 14, 7:30pm at the Philadelphia Free Library.
Max Tegmark and I will be talking about how mathematics describes the universe. I’ll be talking about symmetry. Max will be talking about his new book, Our Mathematical Universe, which comes out in a few days. There will be Q&A and book signings afterwards.
In other news, the paperback edition of the “User’s Guide to the Universe is finally out and available. I just got my copy today.
There are lots of other surprises in the new year. I’m not going to ruin them now, but I think you’ll enjoy them. Hope everyone is keeping nice and warm.
