Greek! And a few other announcements.

Tap. Tap. Is this thing on?

I just wanted to give a few brief announcements.

  1. We’ve sold the Greek version of the “User’s Guide” to Klidarithmos Publications. We are officially huge in the Mediterranean. For those keeping track at home, we’ve got Greek, Italian and Turkish. Worldwide, we have Korean, Russian, Polish (coming soon), Traditional and Simplified Chinese (both coming soon), and of course English (which you should absolutely read if you haven’t already).
  2. If you’re in the area, I’ll be giving a talk on October 19 at the Delaware Valley Astronomical Society. I’ll be talking all about the discovery of the Higgs, and how the Higgs gives mass.
  3. I just finished my penultimate chapter of the Universe in the Rearview Mirror. It’s all about the Standard Model and the Higgs mechanism. I think I have a pretty intuitive description of how it all works. Here’s a hint: that image up top (of Sisyphus) plays into it pretty strongly.

Th-th-that’s all folks!
