Some (possible) upcoming events

I wanted to let you know about a couple of potential and a couple of definite upcoming things, from here at “User’s Guide” headquarters:

  1. Potential: Our editors are thinking about pitching an audiobook version of the “User’s Guide” for audible.com or elsewhere. I’ll let you know how it goes. Can I say how weird and awesome it is to hear people reading excerpts of our book?
  2. Potential: We recently put in a proposal for a panel for NYCC. If we get it, it’ll be Jeff and me talking about about the science of hard sci-fi, signing books, giving away prizes (including some copies of the book), answering questions, and the like. I’ll also let you know how that goes.
  3. Definite: I am giving one of the keynote talks at Starfest (near Toronto) on August 26, 8:00, “‘What is the Universe Expanding into?’ and other perfectly reasonable questions.” The full program is here
  4. Definite(ish): I’ll be doing my next column on naked singularities and rotating black holes. If you have any sub-questions or ideas, be sure to post them in the comments section below or email me.

I’ll post (or tweet or post to facebook) details as I get them.
