Google Reader

I know I am going to come across like your aunt on the day she got her first AOL account and started forwarding you ascii pictures of cats, but I have fallen madly in love with Google Reader.  Yes, I am aware that this has been around for years.  Never mind, you!

I am also slowly awakening to the realization that most of the blogs out there that seem to have an almost preternatural ability to post fascinating news items do, in fact, only have a really good subscription list to their google reader.  I’ve been finding that for the most part, press releases from NASA, or front page articles in the Times miraculously show up on all of the science or politics blogs an hour later.  I’m on to you!
A notable exception is Phil Plait’s Bad Astronomy blog.  Try as I might, Phil manages to scoop all of the good stories and pictures before I’ve seen them anywhere else (and yes, I’m aware of the Astronomy Picture of the Day).  It’s like he’s a web-browsing machine.  Phil, how do you do it?
